HS Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment

Honors

We are proud to offer the following Honors courses for the following grades:

  • 9th Grade – Literature 1, Biology, Geometry
  • 10th Grade – Literature 2, Chemistry, Algebra 2, World History
  • 11th Grade – Physics, Pre-Calculus/Calculus (each class is a semester in length)

Advanced Placement

We offer Advanced Placement (AP) classes in a traditional classroom.  We are actively researching ways to offer more AP classes through blended and on-line classes.  AP students must take a national test in May.  The cost of the exam is $89.  AP exams are graded on a 5 point scale.  If the students scores a 3, 4 or 5, a college or university may give college credit.  77% percent of Trinity students score a 3 or higher on exams.  Students may begin taking AP classes in their sophomore year.  We are adding 2 additional AP classes in the 2015-2016 school year.

  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP European History (10th grade)
  • AP Language and Composition
  • AP Literature
  • AP Microeconomics
  • AP US Government
  • AP US History
  • AP Physics
  • AP Studio Art 2-D (2 year course)

Other AP Courses may be offered if there is sufficient interest and may be done through a blended class or direct independent study.

Dual Enrollment

We currently offer up to 21 college credits with Point University through our dual enrollment program.  We only work with Point University because we want to work with a Christian University, so our students can still get a Christian education.  Point University is fully accredited and their classes transfer to all other college and university institutions.  Students who pass the class receive college credit.  Our goal is for Trinity Christian students to be able to get 1 full year of college credit by the time the graduate from Trinity!
